For advanced beginners, intermediate and professional players
(Recommendations for beginners see FAQ section below)
You already know the basics of harp playing and want to go deeper?
You want to transition from playing sheet music to playing from and expressing yourself from the heart?
I empower you to play music from your heart and find your own way of expressing yourself on this beautiful instrument - intuitively and from the heart, without sheet music. It is quite different from a regular harp lesson, so I also refer to it as harp coaching.
I share with you my experience of being a musician, sound healer, composer and "channeler".
Why work with me?
In regular harp lessons, you mainly learn new songs with each lesson and you see your teacher regularly, once a week, twice a week ... usually for years! And that's totally cool and valuable - it is just not what I offer. :)
Instead of teaching songs, I want to empower you in finding your own authentic expression in music and give you support with your personal questions, like:
Support on your creative path
I can be your muse and support you on the creative path. I create a safe and non-judgemental space for you to discover your creativity and to be with what is and where you would like to go from there. What a beautiful experience to be seen and heard! You will be inspired to bring more awareness into your music so it becomes truly alive and vibrant!
This is what you will learn:
Body, mind & flow - Mindfulness for musicians. This is about the connection between your body and the instrument and how to get into the flow so you can play intuitive and meditative music from the heart while being centered.
I've been playing instruments since I was a little child. I picked up the harp in 2010, attended a harp & healing workshop with Uschi Laar and have worked with many teachers and healers from different backgrounds. I started to share my knowledge about harp on my Youtube Channel and toured through Europe to perform and work with people. I have a background in martial arts (Tai Chi, Qi Gong), as well as Alexander Technique. I studied Applied Physiology of the Voice at the Lichtenberger institute which also researches the connection between body, voice and instrumental play. I know both worlds - being a musician, recording, performing - as well as channeling and playing meditative music. If it resonates with you and you want to learn more than just songs - I am honoured to guide you on your journey.
Please note, I do not teach total beginners or offer weekly harp lessons.
To get the best out of your session, I require that you know the basics on how to play the harp.
In the FAQ section below I have a description of what you need to know and also a list of teachers who can help you getting started!
How many sessions do I need?
Usually, 1-2 sessions are enough to provide you with everything you need at that moment. Some people occasionally return for check in sessions every couple of months. It is a personal choice. Book me if you need guidance. As simple as that.
I have never touched a harp! Can I still book you?
I no longer work with total beginners but with people who know the basics and want to go deeper.
If you are a total beginner, please see a harp teacher in your area or take some Skype lessons with a teacher of your choice. I do not offer regular weekly sessions and as a total beginner, you might need more support for a little while.
What do I need to know to book a coaching with you?
You need to know how to tune your harp, how to sit on it, hand-position, how to place your fingers, play triads, simple melodies. You do not have to be perfect, but to get the best out of our coaching sessions I require that you do know some basics. You do not have to be able to read sheet music.
Can you recommend a teacher / course?
Yes. Here is a collection of harp teachers who work via Skype and offer playing harp by ear (some also offer reading sheet music as well):
